Yay!! DH released this just a few days after WonderCon. I'll be doing variant covers for each issue (except #1); this is for the second issue.

Working on this series has been so much fun already (I'm currently about 1/2 way through issue 1 interiors) and a great challenge, especially with likenesses. At first I struggled very badly while I was testing for the series, and considered throwing in the towel and taking myself out of the running because I just wasn't getting it. But finally something clicked and Angel was the first character that I really got the hang of. Faith has been more of a challenge but I'm improving quickly with her and I feel I've already improved a lot since that cover when it comes to drawing her. I drew both of them without photo reference and then double-checked against a few photos before sending it in for approval. I don't want my likenesses to look like photo collages.

FYI, the series is set in London -- so that's St. Paul's Cathedral behind them. I was able to use a photo I took on vacation a few years ago for reference -- shoulda written that trip off on my taxes, grrrrrr!

The whole idea of the series seems excitiing, and your artowkr seems pretty neat. Good luck with the series, cant wait to see how the first issue turns out :)

Can I just say I'm so excited to see you on this series? :3
I've only just been introduced to you and your work, but I've fallen in love with yourself. xD You didn't copy the characters' likenesses from a photo, yet it actually resembles the portrayer(s). You capture the essence of the characters, while still keeping them looking like the actors. It's really hard to describe, but it's amazing. haha. You seem perfect for this project, and I can't wait to see more of what you can do! I'm especially hoping to see your take on Illyria, as I think your style would portray her ideally. c:
