A commission I did at last weekend CGS Super Show, in Reading, PA. Honestly, I know nothing about the character, but the client was collecting Titans characters in his sketchbook, and had a beautiful binder full of reference for each one, and I thought Hawk looked really cool with her floaty slashed cape thing-y. This is one of my favorites from this con -- my brush pen ran out of ink at the beginning of the con so I was having to use some pretty ghetto inking tools, but in cases like this I think it can look really cool and art-nouveau. One really small thing that I did with this one that I'm really proud of is the hip on the right -- it's not anatomically correct, but the stylization makes it far more expressive. That's a concept I've been wishing I could incorporate into my work more often, but it takes a big leap of faith to deliberately draw things incorrectly after striving for total perfection for so long.

Cool! I agree with your comment about the hip; it adds more dinamic to the piece. Remind me of the choices that Bruce Timm makes when he draws the anatomy (I love Bruce Timm art!).

Awesome job. Kind of a shame they killed her off to bring the original hawk back. I kind of preferred the female hawk and dove team.
